Welcome!

Hi, I’m James, founder of Wolf & Crown Games.

I’ve always been fascinated by games that are easy to pick up, but conceal hidden strategic depth. Furthermore, when you play, I believe it’s important that you feel like each experience is crafted every angle - art, design, mechanics, and the experience around the table.

That’s the ethos that I am bringing to Finest Hour, our first game.

As we ready to launch Finest Hour, I am excited to share with you the two things which I believe make Finest Hour truly special.

Firstly - Finest Hour is built to get to the fun quickly.

At its core is a game you can quickly take out at any table, start rolling some dice, and proceed to blowing things up!

The game is simple to grasp: you assemble your ship, choose your weapons, and pick your commander. Your friends (or enemies…) do the same, and you’re ready to deploy!

Underneath the simplicity is enormous variety - Your ship and commander will be one of thousands of combinations, so every game will feel unique.

As the tension in the battle builds you’ll uncover the decisions you need to make to be a victorious commander.

Could you afford to Overheat your Hull to deal a crippling blow to their Shield Generator? Or is that too risky when they deploy their fighters to respond? Do you finish off a wounded opponent, simply to be destroyed by your remaining foe?

As the battle ramps up, options thin.

Components malfunction and systems go offline. Damage piles up as your carefully crafted ship is torn apart.

When things look truly desperate, your Commander and Crew launch their Finest Hour.

Secondly, I want Finest Hour to be a game you’re excited to own.

The artwork, graphic design, physical components and world of Finest Hour are being created with the same care as the gameplay itself.

This is a human-created, human-led project, and the ambition is simple: make something that looks as good on the table as it feels to play.

I can’t wait to get it into your hands.

I’ll see you across the table!

- James

» The Dark claimed Ecostus today. Another gone.

We are not alone, here.

The Lightgraph detected 4 other vessels enter Cathan IX’s gravity well. Clearly, the Lighthouse is the only reason why they are here.

So far, an uneasy truce has emerged. Each ship refueled at differing cycle times, mercifully.

Although resources are scant, ambition still rides at an all time high. Staggering, really.

What do they have left to be fighting over?

» We are only 1 cycle from Cathan V.

Ship’s running on empty, and we all know it. I have stolen 2 glances at our Navigator this cycle. Both times he only looked away. He knows what we all do - this is a one-way mission.

The Dark has since claimed Cathan IX.

Commander swapped the Forward Battery with recovered parts from the station just past Cathan VI.

Our friends are still following us.

Misery loves company.
